But of course, none of that would be possible without the people who make it happen. So this time, we’re taking a closer look at the team who keep the service running, the operations flowing and the quality high.

Every one of us, no matter the role, shares one focus: the customer. It sounds obvious, but for us, being customer-focused isn’t just about replying quickly to emails or answering the phone within a certain number of rings. It’s about understanding our customers’ objectives and doing everything we can to support them for the long term. That personal, human touch is a big part of who we are.

Quality at the Centre of What We Do

Quality is absolutely critical in our market, and Lisa is the one who keeps us on track. She manages our ISO quality systems and is always keeping an eye on our performance - from non-conformances (thankfully few and far between) to customer feedback.

She also hosts weekly meetings to make sure any corrective actions are picked up quickly and effectively. It’s a big part of how we maintain the service levels our customers expect from us.

Outside BPES: Lisa enjoys horse riding and walking her dogs. Living on a farm means spare time is scarce, but she makes the most of it when she can.

Sales Order Processing & Internal Support

If you’ve dealt with BPES, there’s a good chance you’ve spoken to Carol. Our customers and suppliers regularly tell us how much they appreciate her. Her efficiency and responsiveness is something to be proud of, with orders often received and dispatched within minutes.

Carol works incredibly hard to help customers meet their deadlines, and manages to carry out our internal quality audits on top of it all.

Outside BPES: Carol enjoys walking, gardening, DIY and travelling.

Service & Engineering Support

With one of the most experienced engineers in the market on our team, our customers are in safe hands.

Stuart has worked in academia, large pharma, start-ups and, for the past 20 years, as a senior bioprocess engineer with BPES. Not many people know that he’s even designed and built complete fermenter systems.

That depth of knowledge is invaluable. Understanding the process behind the equipment means he can support our customers with insight that only comes from decades of hands-on experience.

Outside BPES: Stuart is famous for his love of 80s music (which, depending on your taste, can clear a lab pretty quickly!). He also enjoys playing guitar, travelling and model making.
