One system. Many possibilities. Discover the Solaris ONE
A simple, powerful starting point for controlled bioprocessing
Moving beyond shake flasks does not need to mean investing in large, complicated or costly bioreactor platforms. The Solaris ONE is a compact, fully automated 2 L benchtop bioreactor, designed to make controlled cultivation accessible to all.
With a working volume of 0.5 - 1.5 L, the ONE provides reliable control of agitation, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, air flow and feeding, supporting aerobic or anaerobic processes in batch, fed-batch and continuous modes. It is an approachable system for teams taking their first steps into controlled bioprocessing, while still offering the functionality required for meaningful research and process optimisation.
Until 30th September 2026, we are offering the Solaris ONE at 25% off the full price, with systems currently available for delivery in approximately four weeks.
Specifications tell only part of the story. The real value of the Solaris ONE is how it is being applied by organisations tackling very different bioprocessing challenges. From sustainable rubber recycling to cultivated meat process development, the following examples demonstrate the flexibility of the platform before we explore the system in more detail and show exactly what comes in the box.
Recircle: Using the ONE to support sustainable rubber recycling

Biotechnology company, Recircle is developing a more sustainable approach to recycling tyre rubber and demonstrates the flexibility of the Solaris ONE.
Recircle uses specialised enzymes to target and break chemical bonds within rubber particles, helping convert a difficult waste material into potentially reusable resources. The ONE provides the controlled environment needed to optimise temperature, pH and dissolved gas conditions, monitor enzyme performance and refine the process before moving towards pilot and industrial operation.
This work supports Recircle’s long-term ambition to reduce tyre waste and develop a closed-loop approach to rubber recycling. Read the full Recircle case study.
ExtraCellular: Developing processes for cultivated meat

In Solaris Biotech’s Pass the Mic series, cultivated-meat CDMO ExtraCellular explains how it used the Solaris ONE bioreactors to develop manufacturing processes for the cultivated-meat industry.
The team has used the platform with both microbial and mammalian systems, including the microbial production of recombinant proteins for media formulations and the evaluation of small-scale cultivated-meat processes.
By testing agitation, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and feeding strategies at laboratory scale, ExtraCellular can understand cell performance and optimise its processes ahead of scaling up to larger systems.
The team also highlights the simplicity of the ONE’s web-based interface and the support received when transferring its work into controlled bioreactor processes. Watch ExtraCellular’s Pass the Mic video.
What‘s inside the box?

Solaris Biotech’s ONE unboxing video gives a practical look at the system and the main components supplied. It introduces the 2 L single-wall vessel, interchangeable impeller options, gas control, sparger choices, integrated pumps and digital sensors, before demonstrating the compact control station and Leonardo software.
It is a useful visual introduction for anyone considering the platform, showing how a complete controlled fermentation system can be incorporated into the laboratory without requiring a large footprint or an overly complicated installation. Watch the Solaris ONE unboxing video.
A closer look at the Solaris ONE
The ONE is built around a 2 L autoclavable, single-wall borosilicate glass vessel with a working volume of 0.5–1.5 L. It supports aerobic and anaerobic cultivation in batch, fed-batch and continuous modes, with precise control of agitation, temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, gas flow and feeding. A direct-drive brushless motor provides agitation speeds of up to 1,900 rpm, while users can select Rushton, marine or pitched-blade impellers depending on the process. Temperature is managed through an electrical heating blanket and cooling finger, and the compact control station includes four integrated Watson-Marlow pumps that can be assigned for feeding, acid, base or antifoam addition.
Remote monitoring through Leonardo software

The system is operated through Solaris Biotech’s Leonardo software, giving users real-time access to their process from a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Through the web-based interface, users can monitor process values, adjust setpoints, manage calibrations, configure workflows, review trends and export cultivation data. Integrated Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to move between the laboratory and office without losing visibility of the active batch, while laboratories requiring greater throughput can manage up to 24 ONE systems in parallel through the same software environment.
Designed for research, teaching and process development
The Solaris ONE is particularly well suited to laboratories looking to progress beyond shake flasks, introduce practical bioreactor training, increase small-scale fermentation capacity or generate more reliable process data to support successful scale-up. Its compact footprint and simplified architecture make it approachable for new users, while its automated control, remote access and parallel capability provide the tools needed for meaningful research and process optimisation. It also offers a natural route into the wider Solaris platform, helping organisations maintain a consistent approach as processes move from benchtop development towards pilot and industrial scale.
25% off for a limited time
