Description
Our 3rd generation head-amplifiers are the main processing units of the FUTURA system and deliver robust signal power and processing for the FUTURA sensors.
Lightweight biomass monitoring in an ultra compact design with the following features:
- Main FUTURA housing is mounted away from the bioreactor vessel
- Ability to automatically detect and identify connected sensor
- Sensor lifecycle information provided by intelligent management software system
- Full audit trail
- Easily integrated into most small bioreactors
- FUTURA measures all conductivity ranges and cell types so there is no need to change the sensor between different fermentations
- Sensors available in 12mm diameter (ideal for small bioreactors) and 25mm diameter (for larger vessels)
- ABER FUTURA provides the optimum radio-frequency field for measuring live biomass in microbial fermentations and cell culture processes
The FUTURA head amplifier is available in two configurations - standard and remote
Tri clamp probe and probe port adaptors are also available. The FUTURA is available in two configurations – standard and remote
Futura System Overview
The FUTURA system’s three primary hardware components are:
The Probe, the FUTURA Instrument (Head Amplifier) and the Transmitter.
Widely adopted by the world’s leading biotech companies in both R&D and cGMP, ABER’s products are small and light but deliver powerful capabilities and great application flexibility.

More on ABER
ABER’s FUTURA and OPTURA range of biomass measurement and monitoring sensors offers compact, lightweight instrumentation for use on conventional and disposable bioreactors alike. ABER’s pioneering work in the development and use of dielectric instrumentation to monitor biomass, by measuring cell membrane capacitance and media conductivity, has regularly set new standards. In the biotech market, our current FUTURA range is seen as the benchmark in determining live cell concentration online in bioreactors.
